Sustainability
From ambition to action, we're on the journey to net zero
Coconnect's Commitment
At Coconnect we’re extremely passionate about working towards a greener future.
So we’ve rolled up our sleeves and got stuck in. Working closely with our older sibling, Novatech, we’ve implemented a great number of changes to our shared office. Highlighting our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint.
Our Achievements
A plus Energy Building
Our building is officially classified as A Plus. This means we produce more energy from renewable energy sources, over the course of a year, than we import from external sources.
Solar Power
On the roof of our 30,000sq ft shared headquaters in Portsmouth, we’ve installed a 400KWh Solar Panel system, which consists of 825 solar panels.
No to Landfil
We’re proud to say no to landfil. Meaning no Coconnect waste gets sent to landfil. Instead…
- 9% is recovered
- 91% is recycled
Air Source Heat Pump
We are a no gas building. Investing in air source heat pumps and electrical thermal unit has enabled us to gain recognition as a Net Positive building.
Improved Insulation
Our roof has recently been reskimmed to improve our energy efficiency.
Employee Commuting
In conjunction with Octopus Energy, we offer a company car and salary sacrifice EV scheme, alongside a cycle to work programme. This has allowed us to reduce the amount of carbon we generate through commuting.
Safeguarding Children
With our comprehesive filtering, firewall and monitoring solutions we are proud to safeguard 200,000 children across 450 schools. And, we’re not done yet…
- 40% are Primary School children
- 56% are Secondary School children
- 4% are Local Authority School children
Volunteer Programme
We work closely with the Peter Ashley Centre, Portsmouth Foodbank and the Rainbow Centre. Our commitment to the community includes:
- Enviornmental work and conservation
- Fundraising activities
- Volunteering within disadvantaged communities
- Supporting education events through sponsorship and volunteering
